Our newest member, Lucy MaryRuth Shea was at her first meeting tonight! She was born July 20th and is amazing. A two kid life isn't as hard as I thought it would be once the initial shock wore off and I just adjusted to the fact that I will never be able to relax again. Just kidding (kind of ) So far so good and Matt was able to take a month off to be with us so were are lucky. The downside is that my favorite woman in the world, my Gramma Ruth, died 3 days after Lucy was born of a massive stroke. It's been exhausting emotionally on my family, especially my mom. She will be missed.
We have another new member tonight: Kelly Lakeman. She brought puppy chow ;o) She is a friend of Kerry's that Ryan and I have also gotten to know through Storytime at the Red Balloon bookshop. Welcome Kelly!
Matt grilled pork tenderloin for us and everyone else brought sides. We sat out on the deck since it was a gorgeous August night. Norah was also there and she made everyone look in wonder at her flag on the swingset. She is passionate about her American flag (and exit signs and stop signs).
Marley and Me is a hysterical account of a man and his crazy yellow lab. It makes you laugh, it makes you cry and whether you have ever been a dog owner or not, he does a great job of describing life with these four legged friends for life. It sparked a lot of conversation about our experiences with our pets. It seems all pets have some quirk or another - we laughed a lot tonight.
Angie wasn't there tonight because she is studying for her test, and Carolyn is closing on her new house in New Prague.
Wow, crying again! Don't read this, late at night, when everyone is in bed....drinking wine!
