The Feast of Love - December 2001 - First Annual Limo Light Tour

The Feast of Love by Charles Baxter

Chosen by: Ryan

Location: Sweeney's in St. Paul

We met at Sweeney's to kick off our first Limo Light Tour. Michelle, Carolyn Jessica, Ryan and Shelley were there. After some appetizers and book discussion, we had a limo pick us up in the parking lot. Then we were off to see the lights around town. We toured St. Paul, and then the driver took us over to the Inver Grove Heights area where they do some serious decorating! Complete with Tasmanian devils, Santa helicopters, and Goodwill drops boxes with real live Santas manning them. Ryan and I had a bit too much to drink. We had a blast jumping in and out of the limo at various gawdy houses taking pictures of us surrounded by the holiday decor. We even staged a picture of us falling out of the limo laying on the ground w/ wine bottles around us. Pre-kid days! It was quite a success and we will definitely do it again!
The book was interesting and would make a good chick flick movie. There are lots of characters, and their individual stories merge at the end with them all knowing one another. It was decent but I struggled a bit to finish it. We didn't dicuss it much, we were too busy drinking wine ;o)
